Who is Gary Larson?

The cartoons in this FAQ are from Gary Larson's comic strip The Far Side. If you liked them, you should definitely consider buying one of the many Far Side books available.

Like no other cartoonist, Larson's work shows a deep interest in the scientific process and the natural world. He retired after many years of drawing The Far Side, but we can always hope that he will occasionally come out of retirement.

Here's what Larson thinks of creationism:

[Image of cartoon removed for copyright reasons. It shows a professor lecturing to a room of students, in front of a board showing a bunch of gibberish - a 2 ft. long piece of string, a torch and batteries, a cat and a chicken, a formula '(your age)2(mass)', arrows and brackets all over the place, etc. The caption is "Creationism Explained".]
